Karma Yoga retreat

Karma Yoga is the Yoga of Action. The kind of action that is focused on giving back to the community and each other in the best possible way.

Karma Yoga Retreats are run as part of the Dru Volunteer Programme. They are a fantastic way to experience teamwork by working on different projects together, such as cooking, gardening, painting, cleaning, building, etc. Simultaneously, you practice and learn about yoga and meditation in its many aspects.

Karma Yoga, as stated in the Bhagavad Gita, is often understood and translated as the yoga of selfless service, or as the means of achieving freedom through action. It purifies the heart and mind by inviting you to act selflessly, without thought of gain or reward.

Possible Karma Yoga activities will be:-

  • Light maintenance/building
  • Deep cleaning
  • Cooking
  • Gardening
  • Website / IT support

And there's more ....

We will also make sure that your time here is as nourishing and as rewarding as possible.  Therefore we include in your programme sessions like:-

  • Yoga & relaxation
  • Meditation
  • Walk and yoga in nature
  • Mantra chanting (kirtan)
  • Satsang on Bhagavad Gita

And not to forget - your working environment will be in the midst of the stunning scenery of Snowdonia National Park, with beautiful walks and time in nature included!

Join us at the Dru Centre, Snowdonia Mountain Lodge. With its spectacular panaramic views, situated in the beautiful Nant Ffrancon valley in Snowdonia National Park, it’s the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. Towering mountains rise on either side, and from your bedroom window you can see the changing light dancing over the fields, and listen to the sheep and lambs in the surrounding fields. The peace monument's water feature is a relaxing place to sit and soak up the sunshine, or you can meditate by a mountain stream. Teaching sessions are held in our spacious yoga hall, and in between classes you can browse through our extensive yoga shop.

Thousands of people from all over the world come here every year to enjoy the...

  • positive ‘feel good’ ambience
  • delicious vegetarian meals
  • easy access to the mountains
