Yoga Therapeutics for Mental Wellness
Yoga Therapeutics for Mental Wellness with *Sylvia Barrington
At some point in our life all of us are likely to experience mental and emotional challenges e.g. anxiety, depression, an inability to make important decisions etc. Any one of these experiences can become debilitating if we lack a deeper understanding of why these states can occur and a knowledge of how we can change them.
In this workshop students will explore Dru Yoga practices able to calm anxiety, change our mood and bring us back to our natural way of being which is balanced, grounded and relaxed. The theory of yoga will be shared with students to provide insight into why certain imbalances occur. Specific practices including breath work, sequence work, meditation and relaxation designed to address the cause of a particular set up symptoms will be taught. Students will come away feeling empowering by their knowledge and experience of Dru Yoga Therapeutics for creating mental wellness.
This Dru workshop is open to yoga teachers of all schools and yoga practitioners interested in using yoga practices to balance emotions, calm the mind and develop resilience.
*Sylvia has been teaching Dru yoga for 30 years. She is an enigmatic and popular teacher. Currently Sylvia chairs the Dru Curriculum Committee and also currently sits on the British Council of Yoga Therapy in charge of yoga therapy curriculum development.
