Postgrad - Dru Yoga for the auto-immune system in the North West, Sept 2019

Registration is closed for this event
Dru Yoga postgraduate training day to be held in Morecambe. This postgraduate training day is open to current students and graduates of the Dru Yoga teacher training course. The training session is also open to yoga teachers from other training schools.

This is going to be an exciting CPD training day to be held in the north west of England, in the beautiful seaside resort of Morecambe.

This training day is going to be run by Isabel Carter. Isabel been practising yoga for 26 years. She has tried many yoga traditions, did a bit of teacher training with some, but once she found Dru Yoga she knew I’d found her fit. Isabel has been a Dru Yoga teacher since 2000, followed that with the Dru Meditation teacher training and has been a tutor on the Leeds DYTT since it started. She teaches around 150 students a week in a variety of settings, and opened her own studio in 2014, but she still loves her work in the community, particularly with patient groups. She has run the Wellbeing service for the local HIV clinic for the last 13 years. She is passionate about Dru Yoga for good health and seeing the amazing results it brings every day in her students and in herself, and it’s a real joy to share her enthusiasm, knowledge and practical experience so that people can help themselves.

Isabel has suffered with auto-immune problems in the past and has devised this course and her own yoga practice accordingly, making her the ideal tutor for a session such as this.

You may want to ask yourself:

  • Are you or any of your students living with auto-immune disorders?
  • Do you understand what’s happening physically and emotionally to the body when we have auto-immune responses?
  • Would you like to learn how to use your Dru Yoga to manage auto-immune disorders?

Auto-immune diseases are on the rise with allopathic medicine currently not able to offer much in the way of treatment.

Join us for an interesting training day exploring this 21st century problem, as Isabel shares with you some of what she has learnt on her own auto-immune journey.

During the session we will be discussing the why, what and how of auto-immune diseases. We’ll look at some of the theory and physiology so that you can better understand the immune response, and we’ll be practising yoga and pranayama to balance the auto-immune system. Isabel will also share plenty of other tips and techniques that she knows work. This is because she has used them and healed herself of a serious auto-immune disease, much to the amazement of her consultant.

By the end of this interactive and practical workshop, you will be more confident about teaching students with auto-immune diseases, with an understanding of some of the underpinning knowledge surrounding these debilitating conditions.

This CPD workshop is aimed at qualified Dru Yoga teachers and current Dru Yoga students teachers. Yoga teachers from other yoga schools are also most welcome to attend.

There will be 6 Dru Yoga CPD to be gained from this workshop - other yoga teachers may need to check with their particular schools for qualifying CPD points.

There will be a lunch break and you will need to bring your own lunch - there aren't any local shops nearby to purchase sandwiches etc. Hot and cold drinks and snacks will be available throughout the day.

Please bring a yoga mat and a blanket for relaxation.

We look forward to seeing you there.
