Or if you get your left and rights mixed up (I do that all the time!).

A typical Dru Yoga session consists of a short activation, usually to music, to get the circulation flowing and get the body moving. This is followed by an Energy Block Release sequence, that is a series of beautiful flowing movements aimed at increasing the flow of energy around the body and releasing any tension from the muscles and joints. A session will normally also include a breathing exercise and at least one yoga posture. Every session finishes with a guided relaxation, which really helps embed the benefits of the session.

I was introduced to DRU yoga in 2000 and in 2008 began the DRU Yoga Teacher Training course purely for personal development reasons. I started teaching in 2008 and have never stopped. I teach on a one to one basis helping people develop their personal yoga program in my Paradise Clinic in Kemnay, Aberdeenshire. I now have a new yoga studio in Paradise Clinic (with underfloor heating) and offer blended classes at various times during the week. So people can join in person or on zoom into the same class. I teach a 1 1/2 hour Vinyasa Flow Dru Yoga Class which combines a fun activation, EBR sequence, a vinyasa-style flow Dru sequence followed by deep relaxation, pranayama and (sometimes) meditation.

I also teach private sessions for adults, kids and teens. Private sessions may be for yoga (I get referrals from local physiotherapists but you can also self-refer for a home program or an intro to yoga) and/or 8 week mindfulness programs for better sleep, reduced stress/anxiety/depression, better focus and attention, improved moods and emotional balance. Studies show that mindfulness participants experienced a 35% reduction in the number of medical symptoms and a 40% reduction in psychological symptoms.

I run four gentle Dru Yoga classes in the beautiful, tranquil surroundings of the North Shore Country club, in Kallaroo
Morning classes run for 2 hours, Evening classes run for1.5hours hours
Classes are designed to be appropriate for all the unique beings/bodies attending the class ☺

In class we aim to mindfully and gently improve strength, flexibility & core stability.......to enhance feelings of positivity & empowerment, and revitalise your whole being……and top it all off with a long deep relaxation
at the end ☺

Thursday 7.30am - 9.30am

The class gatherings are very warm & friendly

My classes are all about bringing a sense of me-time where each one of us can relax as well as energise our bodies in a supportive environment. It's great to stretch and strengthen one's body with yoga - that brings a certain amount of peace of mind and relaxation. But in today’s world, stress is taking its toll on us all. Good work-life balance is just a phrase which we aspire to but we forget to spend times just relaxing. Yoga can help us to relax not just our bodies but our minds and spirits as well. Dru yoga with its gentle flowing movements is a perfect antidote to our busy world and a means of giving us a quiet space to take good care of ourselves.
