Seat of Compassion

 -   &
Anouschka Dack
Duration:
8 mins

Welcome to Day 1 of your 7-Day Energy Challenge

This heart opening sequence focuses the Anahata chakra to release the energy of compassion and selfless love. Your heart centre is a vast reservoir of inner strength and power. Once activated you can use its energy to make positive choices as well as to appreciate and connect with the people around you.

Today: Decide to act from a place of power and energy in everything that you do

This heart opening sequence begins with the Chair of the Heart posture and then includes the Charity and Crane postures. This Seat of Compassion is a deeply nourishing pose for the thoracic area. If you are someone who easily loses energy and feels tired in the throat area, then this sequence will help increase the blood flow and revitalise you.

Practising the spinal wave in the Charity posture helps to ensure greater flexibility in your back.

The primary emotion of this pose is stated in the title: compassion. Opening the heart helps us to restore our capacity to trust. Right from the beginning this is a sequence that literally opens up the chest and so focuses and activates the heart chakra to release the energy of compassion and selfless love. As you move through each stage of this sequence remind yourself "I open myself to receive the full love of the universe and I trust that all is well".

This is a dynamic, flowing yet demanding sequence. Please, make sure that you have relaxed the shoulders and that you have a strong lower back before doing this sequence. We suggest you watch the sequence through before joining in.

This sequence has been taken from the class Feel good Fast. Watch it here...

Andrew wells this is my favourite sequence. This is the one I did for my exams and has been embedded in my heart ever since. I love to teach this sequence.

I have not performed this sequence for a while - thank you for taking me back to it. I had forgotten how soothing it is.
