The Power of Mudra

 -
Duration:
30 mins

Mudras are one of the ways that you can harness the forceful source of ‘shakti’ (empowerment) and make it your own. Imagine having so much energy that you can do what you want, when you want - all day long! Learn to be excited and mentally alert, bright and joyful all day long with The Power of Mudras.
Mudras have the power to balance the elements in your body. Each finger represents a different part of your body.

>  The thumb – is the fire element – and the Manipura chakra (navel)
The index finger – is the air – and the Anahata chakra (heart)
The middle finger – the ether – Vishuddhi (throat), Ajna (brow) and Sahasraha (crown)
The ring finger – the earth – and the Mooladhara chakra (base)
Little finger – the water element - and the Swadhistana chakra (sacral)

As you hold the hands in specific positions, they create a specific energy circuit that energises and transforms your mind and emotions.

Activation session
This class has an activation that creates a flow of energy, opens up the breath pathways and prepares you for the Mudra sequence that follows.

The Pose of Sita (from Energy Block Release 4)
Sita is one of the main characters from one of the great epic stories of India – the Ramayana. Sita is the wife of Lord Rama of Ayodayha. The story unfolds as Rama, the eldest son of King Dararatha, is exiled for 14 years. During this time Sita, is abducted by the evil King of Lanka. Rama sets about rescuing his wife and in so doing destroys Ravana.

Like all of the great Indian epics, the story is also an analogy of our life’s  journey.

Lord Rama represents right action and that part of us that seeks spiritual liberation. Sita represents the jivatman, the light in us that is so often shrouded in the desires and distractions of this world and can so easily be drawn from it’s point of centre. Sita eventually returns back to Rama and all is well.

Discovering the nadis
This sequence is designed to go deep inside the internal pathways of the nadis (energy channels) and remove any blocks that lie in the more subtle layers of our being. The subtle body or Sukshma Shariria, is formed by the mind, emotions and intellect. Each side of the body is opened and freed, especially the Ida (main nadi of the left side of the spine) and the Pingla (main nadi on the right side of the spine). This freedom allows the natural flow of Shushumna, the main channel of prana (life-force) that flows up through the centre of the chakra system. As this flow takes place, the frequency of the body is raised and thoughts and emotions naturally improve, one naturally feels empowered, clear, free from fear and doubt.

‘Awakening Soulforce’ meditation
The session concludes with a special and powerful meditation with mudras called ‘Awakening Soulforce’. It focuses on activation the Hrit Chakra, the seat of intuition and of your inner guidance. It reminds you to listen to the sounds and signs around and within you that are constantly guiding your life.
Enjoy the experience. Each time you perform the sequence you will feel something new awakening. It will change a thought pattern, uplift an emotion and help you to harness the extra-ordinary force of energy that we live in, as well as balance the elements that make up the human form.
