The Mountain Stream analogy - the greatest route to self nourishment

Mansukh's, father Chagganbhai Patel, (we call him 'Dad' in the Dru team), was fond of the visualisation of a mountain as a way of understanding the path to spiritual connection.

There are many rivers on this mountain, many paths to expressing our spirituality. And all of them teach us ways to discover our Self, the origin of all self nurture.

Here Andrew explores a way of understanding how to arrive at the greatest experience of self nuture - real connection with your inner Self, using the analogy of a mountain stream.

Spirituality Sangha - Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

With the greatest love to all of you in the Spirituality Sangha, thanks for being truly amazing!

You've expressed your spirituality in so many ways, and have established a foundation that will last a lifetime. The progress you have made in the last 10 months is remarkable, and you deserve a great big pat on the back. Or the heart!

Niyama (1): Saucha

If the Yamas were all about putting our foot on the brake pedal then the Niyamas are about putting our foot on the accelerator!

The first of the Niyamas is Saucha, meaning purity or cleanliness. This refers to both the body and the mind.

Keeping the body clean is not simply about washing thoroughly every day, it also involves taking exercise and ‘eating clean’. Obviously our yoga movements and sequences help to remove blockages and to keep the body in good condition. Getting out in the fresh air helps to purify our lungs, our blood and all our internal systems.

Yoga Sutras and exploration of Yama 1: Ahimsa

Let’s start at the very beginning...Patanjali was a wise dude who lived in India a long time ago and who knew a lot about yoga! He passed on his wisdom through his Yoga Sutras. A sutra is a useful device, a short burst of words which is able to convey an awful lot to the listener or reader. He also usefully put together a simple structure for those of us on our yogic path which we call the Eight Limbs of Yoga:

2020 Perfect Vision, a tool to manifest your dreams

As I reflect upon the experiences and lessons learned from the past year and prepare for new year and it's opportunities, I like to create a vision board to help me focus and create direction in my life...

I first read about vision boards in a book called ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne and I have adapted that process to produce a succession of digital visions over the last few years which can either be printed out and pinned up on the wall or which can be created as a  wallpaper on various devices.
