I began practising yoga as a student many moons ago and I have been practising Dru Yoga for 20 years since moving to Richmond, North Yorkshire where there is a wonderful network of Dru Yoga teachers and classes.
I love Dru Yoga because it 'offers something for everyone' and has the power to transform people's lives. My classes are suitable for all ages and fitness levels and with regular class attendance and practice, people experience an overall improvement in their health, a greater sense of well-being and a feeling of empowerment to realize their full potential and their dreams. I am also a Reiki practitioner.
When I am not teaching Dru Yoga, I love singing with an all-female voice choir and walking in beautiful Swaledale with my husband.
I offer Dru Yoga classes to revitalise, restore and relax. Classes take place in the beautiful market towns of Richmond, North Yorkshire and Barnard Castle, County Durham.
My typical Dru Yoga session consists of a short activation, usually to music, to get the circulation flowing and to get the body moving. This is followed by an Energy Block Release sequence. This is a series of beautiful flowing movements aimed at increasing the flow of energy around the body and releasing any tension from the muscles and joints. A session will normally also include a breathing exercise and a posture. Every session finishes with a guided relaxation, which really helps embed the benefits of the session.
