Essence of the Bhagavad Gita in Leeds
John Jones is an international speaker and Dru workshop presenter in yoga and meditation. He has a knack of describing yogic concepts in simple, bite-size pieces that open up a whole new dimension of experience.
The question of 'who am I' has been central to the practice of yoga for thousands of years but Self-enquiry and Self-realisation remain mysterious and misunderstood concepts in the West.
In this workshop John and Petra will:
1. Teach you how to chant in Sanskrit, enabling you to experience the ancient power of mantra through the verses of the Bhagavad Gita.
2. John will explain in his down-to-earth way, key concepts of yoga philosophy enabling you to experience how every small insight on the journey of Self-discovery brings great rewards of freedom from anxiety and fear.
3. The day will be set in a matrix of Dru yoga and meditation techniques, helping you to open your heart and mind to this, the king of all yogas, the knowledge of the Self.

John Jones is an author and a Director of the International School of Dru Yoga. He has led workshops in over 40 countries and has used Dru Yoga and Meditation to help people in the post-war zones of the North Caucasus, Bosnia and Northern Ireland. John's deep understanding of meditation and the Bhagavad Gita is rooted in more than 30 years of sadhana (yoga practice) and dedication to his life's journey.
Petra Opsteeg is an experienced Dru yoga teacher who specialises in Sound and Mantra. She has been leading sound workshops internationally for 25 years and leads the Dru Yoga of Sound courses at the Dru Centre in Wales. She also loves the Bhagavad Gita and works with John in his Gita retreats and workshops.
