Sound, Mantra & Kirtan Online Workshop - Apr 2020

Nurture and restore your body and mind with the healing power of sound!

Join the Dru Sound team from the comfort of your own home for this powerful day workshop. Whether you think you’re a singer or not,  Petra, Nanna, Neelke and Jane will take you on a magical inner journey and bring joy to your heart and mind. The workshop will include three nurturing 90 minute sessions, broadcast live on April 8th from 10-4pm UK time, with interactive Q&A's and downloads to use afterwards. If you can’t make those times, you can watch the replay of the whole day's training at your own time.
 

Session 1 - Liberate the power of your voice.
Project your voice with our 3 tips to speak louder without losing energy (perfect if you’re teaching online or doing many zoom calls!) Learn techniques to open your throat chakra and communicate with power so you are heard and understood. Learn breathing exercises to strengthen your lungs and increase your vocal power. Understand vocal anatomy and develop your singing voice with confidence.
 
Session 2 – Mystical Sound Meditation

Add sound to your meditation practice to achieve greater calmness, spiritual clarity and nurture. For thousands of years, mantras have been used to unlock the hidden powers stored in our unconscious mind. Normally the busy-ness of our lives makes these powers hard to access, leaving us feeling tired, overwhelmed or anxious. Using ancient Sanskrit mantras and bhij sounds, you will learn a sound practice that you can practice daily to discover your strengths, reduce anxiety and liberate your deepest inner resources.
 
Session 3 – Ecstatic Chanting and Kirtan

Join friends all over the world for this live chanting session, with many of Dru’s most experienced musicians playing the harmonium, tablas, tanpura and other instruments. Experience the joyful practice of call and answer chanting of mantras which clear the distractions of our conscious minds. Learn how to share simple chants and the hidden meanings of some ancient mantras.

This online workshop will be taught by our senior Dru Sound tutors, who have many years’ experience of leading chanting, yoga, meditation and music sessions.

I have just completed session 1 of the Swadharma Dru Dance Course and I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the dance. I already feel that I have started to develop some muscle memory and connection with the spirit of the dance. So well done, great teaching.
