Endocrine Balancing Sequence

11 mins

In this class, Rika takes us though a sequence that will help bring balance to the glands and hormones.

Each movement is designed to bring focus to a certain gland. By using the Ujjayi breath, we stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system.

  • Adrenals - cortisol
  • Thyroid - metabolism
  • Hypothalamus - controls the release of various hormones
  • Pancreas - insulin - regulates blood sugar levels and
  • Liver - detoxification
  • Digestive system

Dear padma. I thought perhaps she uses this alternative because you are letting go of things. But ‘normal’ ujjayi all right?

Dear Rika. Why do you breathe out through lips with ujjaji Breath?

Hi Tilly Rika offers the option of outbreath through the lips as an alternative to ujjayi breath. The reason is to encourage a longer outbreath so you can focus on illuminating the specific areas of the body, filling them with light.

Thanks Rika, that was fun. I've enjoyed this and the sun sequence with the endocrine focus - lots of ideas for teaching and therapy, thank you. And lovely to see Jenni too :-)

Hi Stanley - I've contacted Rika to check - but I think not - esp not the forward bend twisting movements. I'll post here once I have an answer :-) There will be some more pre-natal classes coming soon.
