Gluteus medius stretch

The Gluteus medius muscle is one of three strands of muscles that include the Gluteus maximus, and the Gluteus minimus.
This important postural muscle can become long and weak, particularly in people who have flat feet and/or a forward tilting pelvis (with increased lordosis). The following exercise will help you identify the gluteus medius muscle by feeling its contraction in the left buttock area.
Use them as a preparation for postures such as the Tree, the Tiger, the Gate, the Eagle, the Dancer and the Warrior.
