Welcome to this body prep: The Iliopsoas strengthening with DYTT course tutor Mona Fairholme,  

The Iliopsoas is a combination of two muscle groups: the psoas and the iliacus – these two muscles are the two strongest flexors of the hip joint. It is a very important muscle that connects the upper part of the body to the lower. 

In book 3 stages 1 and 3 you have already learnt how to diagnose whether the these muscles are too tight, too short, too long or too weak. These stages can be combined with the iliopsoas strengthening.  

In this class mona introduces a simple iliopsoas strengthening movement. Practise it on both sides whist sitting upright on the floor.
