Relax & Unwind Series: Class 1

The first in a three part series to relax and unwind with Annie and Coby.

This class is especially designed to release tension from tight backs, shoulders and the neck. It will help ease tension headaches and back pain and deeply relax you. Give yourself a mini holiday!

Energy Block Release 1 will ease tension from all the major muscle groups of your body. The Cat pose (Marjariasana) is the perfect way to free the spine and energise the body.

The Spiral Twist will open the chest and gently twist the spine.

A 3-stage 'tense and release' relaxation will help you to let go, calming mind and body.


Yoga class contents


Systematically loosen some of the key joints in your body: wrists, elbows, shoulders, ankles, knees and hips. Then move into some twists, dynamic arm swings, and wide stance 'breath of Arjuna' to activate the thigh muscles and get blood pumping through your entire body.


Gently work and stretch your body so you start to unwind and relax from the inside-out.


The Dru cat posture is unique in that it incorporates a healing spinal wave, each time beginning from the base of the spine. Great for easing tension of the back after sitting at a desk or a long drive.

Spiral twist

Enjoy the soothing, spiral twist which is perfect for lulling you into a relaxed state. Feel tension in your shoulders, chest and back being squeezed out with the two stages of effortless movement.


Now that you’re on the floor, best to make the most of it and finish the “relax and unwind” process. Allow Annie to coax any remaining tension out of you with a classic 3-stage Dru relaxation. Awake feeling relaxed and refreshed, ready to take that feeling off the mat and into your daily life.

I have had lots of tension in my neck and shoulders for a while due to work stress and this class was a reminder of the power of Dru to make me feel better in body and mind, thank you!
