Somaya Namaskara

 -
Duration:
29 mins

In this NEW Dru sequence called Somaya Namaskara we focus on the Soma chakra - the seat of healing nectar or amrit.

This chakra is located above the Ajna and is associated with the Jyoti Kendra – the seat of light. Amrit is said to be released from this chakra which then flows through the body, deeply healing and nourishing all 7 dhatus (layers) and the 3 doshas.

Through this sequence you will experience youthfulness, vitality, health, harmony, clarity and the calming of all emotions.

*** There is no guided relaxation at the end of this class. When you have completed today’s yoga session please choose one of the relaxations in the “other classes you may enjoy” at the bottom of the page to complete your practice. ***

This sequence includes:

  • The Sequence of Immortality
  • Water cleansing visualisation
  • Moon Sequence variation
  • Sphinx with Ketcheri and Sambhavi mudras
  • Bridge (setubhandasana) and Supported Shoulder-stand (vipariti karani)
  • Relaxation

Hi Jane Thanks for your comments about how this sequence is helping you deal with a challenging time. To be able to transform turmoil into peace and calm through your yoga practices is such an empowering gift because it gives us tools to allow us to reclaim our power. Good on you that you have the wisdom to turn to yoga when you most need it! Padma

Hi lovely friends of the on line studio - I am delighted to see that you are enjoying the sequence. Ali, the mudra you are referring to where the circles sit one on top of the other - i call this the 'purnam mudra' or mudra of fullness as it combines all qualities of heaven, earth, love and truth. Willy, if someone is unable to do the inversion, simply let them raise the legs from the floor without lifting the body from the floor. I hope this helps you all Annie x

I really enjoyed this sequence. Just wondering what the mudra is called in the sequence of immortality with the thumb and forefingers touching making circles which lie Right over left and the other finger tips touching?
