Angela, Dahna, Joanna and Tracy are all based in Canberra and have been teaching together as tutors on the Dru Yoga Teacher Training course for the last 3 years. We are all passionate about well being, sustainability, empowered living and Dru!

Together we are DruVenture, a fusion of our love for Dru, Adventure and our individual skills as an offering to the world.

We bring you a program that will have foundation practices that will be repeated over the four weeks as well as our own unique flavour of teaching and empowering. Each week at least two of us will be online with you, a lead teacher presenting the class and a support teacher helping to observe how you are going, provide you feedback for safety and getting the most out of your posture, and to answer any questions you might have via the chat function.

With a lifelong love for adventure I have found the most affordable and carbon neutral way of achieving this is by stepping on my yoga mat. I aim to be alive to each moment, tread lightly on the earth and live with joy. I have been practicing yoga since the age of 15 and teaching Dru for nearly ten years. The transformational effects of Dru Yoga have helped me through my most challenging times and have also helped me craft a purpose filled life. Nothing gives me more joy than sharing these tools and techniques with others with the desire that together we can ensure the future is bright. I dream of a world where everyone stands in their power and acts from a place of joy and peace.

I have been passionate about health and wellbeing from a very young age, and the connection of body and mind has always fascinated me. After studying science (nutrition and psychology) at university, and travelling the world, I found myself in India studying yoga and ayurveda - where my heart found its place. I consolidated my training by studying Dru Yoga in Wales, UK, in 2008 and completing the course in Australia in 2011. I've completed the Dru Meditation, Dru Dance and Dru Kids and Teens Teacher Training courses. I aim to balance science with spirituality by teaching a class for people of all ages and abilities that integrate body, mind and soul, in a fun and cheerful way.

 

Tracy Rowe

Dru Yoga teacher; Dru Yoga Teacher Trainer

Senior soft tissue therapist/myotherapist specialising in chronic pain and anxiety

Tracy infuses her teaching with an obvious love and experience gained from 17 years as a manual and movement therapist to make each class an adventure into the physical body.

Secretly, she hopes that by leading discovery expeditions into the physical layers of our being, her students will become just as curious and passionately ‘nerdy’ about the wonderment of the human body and the human BEING as she is!
She teaches exquisitely slow and delicious classes to those who want to inhabit their bodies, hearts and minds more deeply, and connect with ‘their’ tribe.

This four week program will provide you with the tools, ideas and inspiration to make the most of this time of change

Keep a hold on the things that you have discovered to be great about Lockdown and transform the challenges that you have had to face so that life moving forward is better because of this experience!

Week 1 - Focus

Yoga - Tracy will take you through a slow and nurturing yoga class to help you arrive back in your body and quieten your mind

Transition Plan - Identify the things that have been of value to you and choose one aspect that you would like to transform, this will be the start of your four week plan to empower the rest of your life, thanks to Covid!

Week 2 - Vision

Yoga - Joanna steps up the pace a little, bringing energy into your well balanced body and opening your heart and mind to great possibilities

Transition Plan - What potential does your future hold? What if you had no limitations on how you wanted life to be now? This is your chance to discover!

Week 3 - Change

Yoga - Explore how the yoga is helping to empower your mind. What is your unique experience? How can you master the dance of your emotions and experiences?

Transition Plan - Angela will help bring the theoretical and the practical together as you identify the ways forward

Week 4 - Action

Yoga - Dahna will complete the program, helping you to anchor the key practices that work for you personally

Transition Plan - Identify clear, achievable and efficient actions that you can take to keep you empowered into the next phase of your life and beyond

Health considerations

These Dru classes are designed for people of all levels of experience and ability. Each week at least two teachers will be online with you, a lead teacher presenting the class and a support teacher helping to observe how you are going, provide you feedback for safety and getting the most out of your posture, and to answer any questions you might have via the chat function. While every effort will be taken to maintain the high level of safety that is typical of a Dru class some of the practices being presented in these classes have health considerations for:

  • recent surgery
  • high or low blood pressure
  • heart conditions
  • ulcers and hernias
  • pregnancy

If you are unsure of your condition for attending the classes, please feel free to call the office to discuss this further.

Please note that by signing up to these classes you agree to take full responsibility for your own health and well being during the class as well as when you practice anything taught during the class at another time and location.

Missed session or cancellations - If you cancel up to 48 hours before the program commences (because of illness or some other unforseen circumstance) then we give you the option of transferring the event fee to a future Dru event.

If you are unable to make all four sessions you can receive a video replay of the sessions
