Challenging Sun Sequence

 -
Duration:
54 mins

This Sun Sequence has a couple of challenging variations to encourage those of us who would like (or need) a bit of a stronger work out  ;-)

Strong and steady this sequence doesn’t push you with speed - it challenges you to slow down and absorb each and every moment. Relax into each posture and settle deeper into yourself. Take a few precious moments to savour each breath and enjoy the strength of your body, heart and mind. This class includes:

Activation & Body preps

  • Hand activation & biceps curl
  • Shoulder rotations
  • Foot and ankle mobilisation
  • Knee lifts
  • Hip circling
  • Lunge with twist
  • Deep squats
  • Standing stretch
  • Cross patterning
  • Lunges with soaring arms

  • Calf stretches - Gastrocnemius and Soleus
  • Hamstring stretch
  • llliopsoas stretch from runner

Challenging Sun Sequence Flow
This slow and flowing Sun Sequence helps us to focus by encouraging us to hold various poses. Develop your core and muscular strength by keeping the joints soft and not locked - especially in the raided plank and cobra. Keeping your gaze focussed at the horizon or straight ahead helps to balance excessive pitta energy.

  • Standing stretch
  • Standing runner position
  • Warrior 2
  • Twisted warrior lunge
  • Plank
  • 8 point pose
  • Cobra
  • Downward Dog with dynamic flow
  • Warrior 2
  • Twisted warrior lunge
  • Standing stretch

4 Stage Deep Relaxation
Take a few minutes at the end of this class for a well deserved and nurturing guided relaxation.

Such a brilliant class - the preparation felt perfect and the sense of flow was fluid and beautifully facilitated. Thank you. I will be adding this class in to my weekly practice. x
