Online Postgraduate Day

Chair-Based Yoga Postgraduate Day

Join us for a day of focused exploration of how to translate one of Dru’s most powerful sequences into a fully chair-based experience.

This day offers a focused exploration of how to translate one of Dru’s most powerful sequences – EBR2 (Energy Block Release 2) – into a fully chair-based experience.

EBR2, particularly Part 2, can be one of the more complex sequences to adapt. Together, we’ll work through a carefully developed chair-based version that stays true to the essence of the practice while opening it up to a much wider range of students.

You’ll be guided step by step, with space to practise, reflect, and ask questions.

What this course will give you:

By the end of the day, you’ll feel more confident in:

  • Adapting core Dru sequences safely for chair-based settings
  • Teaching EBR2 to students who cannot access floor-based yoga
  • Expanding your classes to be more inclusive and accessible
  • Holding the depth and energetic intention of Dru practices in a new format
  • 5 CPD points

This is about adding a new layer to your teaching, one that meets people where they are, without losing the heart of the practice.

What we’ll explore:

  • A complete chair-based adaptation of EBR2
  • Key principles of Chair-Based Yoga (CBY) — accessibility, alignment, and awareness
  • How to maintain flow, breath, and energetic connection in a seated practice
  • How to include koshic awareness  in CBY
  • Practical teaching approaches for mixed-ability groups
  • Space for discussion and Q&A, informed by over 25 years of Chair-Based Yoga teaching experience from your facilitators

Included with the Day:

  • Live online training via Zoom
  • Selected session recordings for replay
  • A bonus video series from Melanie — her chair-based interpretation of EBR2, recorded on Zoom for ongoing reference

Meet the Team:

Anouschka Dack – Senior Dru Yoga Teacher Trainer | Vision Coach | Mentor

Anouschka Dack is a senior Dru Yoga teacher trainer with over 25 years’ experience, having discovered Dru Yoga at the age of 16. Her work brings together yoga, meditation, Bhagavad Gita wisdom, and practical coaching tools to support people in living with clarity and purpose. Alongside her teaching, she guides students and teachers to grow in confidence and expand what they can offer in a way that feels authentic and grounded.

Her connection to Chair-Based Yoga developed through her own personal practice during periods of illness, where adapting yoga became essential rather than optional. This experience continues to shape her approach — finding ways to maintain depth, connection, and meaning in the practice, even when working with limitations.

Based at the Dru Scotland Centre, Anouschka has supported hundreds of students through trainings, retreats, and coaching. She is passionate about helping teachers make yoga more accessible, while staying true to the heart of the practice.

Melanie Jones – Chair-Based Yoga Specialist | Therapist | Dru Yoga Teacher

Melanie Jones began her Chair-Based Yoga journey in 2000, when her first Dru Yoga experience took place entirely in and around a chair. She trained as a Dru Yoga teacher in 2008 and has since specialised in adapting Dru practices to make them accessible for a wide range of students.

Her work focuses on inclusivity, helping people benefit from yoga regardless of mobility or health challenges. Over the years, she has brought Chair-Based Yoga into community settings, workplaces, and corporate wellbeing programmes.

Melanie also runs Paradise Clinic in North East Scotland, where she offers reflexology, Reiki, and breathwork coaching. Her approach is practical and supportive, helping teachers confidently bring Chair-Based Yoga into their own classes.
