Why Dru Retreats Are Different
For over 40 years, we’ve been welcoming people to retreat, practise and spend time reconnecting with themselves here in Eryri. A lot of care goes into how our retreats are shaped — from the way we live and work together, to the practices we share — guided by yogic principles and a genuine love for this place and this work.
‘Venue - perfect! Food - perfect! Accommodation - perfect! Tutors – every single one extraordinarily good.’ - Jan Arkle - Leamington Spa, UK

The Café
The café is where we share our meals and spend time together between sessions. It’s often a gently buzzing place with people talking, laughing, having tea and getting to know one another. For many, this is where you can connect with like-minded people who are here for the same reason.
The Location
Our Yoga Centre is set in the spectacular Eryri National Park, which feels like a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We are nevertheless very accessible by public transport - 3.5 hours away from London by direct train, 2 hours from Manchester and 3 from the West Midlands.
accommodation
stay on site
The rooms here are simple, clean and close to the teaching room. Being on site means days flow more easily and there’s space to slow down properly. Most rooms are shared, with a few single rooms available. Bathrooms are straightforward and clean. Some rooms look out onto the surrounding hills and trees, which many people really appreciate. We often hear the same thing afterwards: people sleep so well surrounded by the mountains and fresh air.
rest, recharge and rejuvenate
Reset and Reconnect with Yourself
When life feels full and your energy is stretched thin, it’s easy to lose your sense of balance. Yet the space to renew yourself already exists. Imagine stepping away with intention, restoring your vitality, and returning grounded, clear and reconnected to what truly matters.
good food
Food, Cooked with Care
Food is an important part of the retreat experience in Dru. Our chefs are experienced and thoughtful, cooking really good vegetarian meals, with gluten-free and vegan options available where needed. We’re careful around allergies and do our best to adapt meals so everyone feels looked after.
All meals are home-cooked and prepared on site, using organic ingredients wherever possible - including some produce grown in our own garden.
The food is simple, nourishing, and satisfying - designed to support energy, digestion, and rest without feeling heavy or complicated. Many people say they notice the difference within a day or two.
All meals are included - breakfast, lunch, and supper - so you don’t need to think about food at all while you’re here.
A place to pause
World Peace Flame Monument
Spend time at the World Peace Flame Monument, a symbolic meeting place of fire, water and open sky. The flame represents peace beyond borders, cultures, and belief systems, and has been lit with the intention of unity and shared responsibility for humanity.
Dark sky nights
Stargazing in Eryri
Experience the depth and stillness of Eryri’s Dark Sky Reserve, where the night sky naturally draws your attention beyond everyday concerns. On clear evenings, we gather by the bonfire and watch the stars and planets slowly appear.
A quiet presence
The candle room
Visit the Candle Room, created from local slate and marked with the word peace in many languages. This simple, enclosed space offers a place for you and the flame. Lighting a candle becomes a quiet ritual - a moment of intention, remembrance and connection with others who have stood here before.
