This Dru Yoga Dance workshop invites you to experience movement as a form of expression — something closer to poetry than exercise.

Dru Yoga Dance is sometimes described as a visual language: it draws on the rich movement vocabulary of the Dru Yoga tradition, alongside influences from Indian and Western cultural dance, to create sequences that feel both grounding and enlivening. Where conventional yoga classes focus primarily on stillness and alignment, Dru Dance adds rhythm, flow and a quality of expression that many practitioners find brings a different kind of release and energy.

The workshop has two distinct elements. The first introduces you to the foundational principles of Dru Yoga — the underlying philosophy and physical approach that makes Dru distinctive, including its characteristic flowing movements and attention to the spine and breath. The second element is a dynamic Dru Dance sequence, choreographed to music, which you will learn and practise as part of the group.

In this Dru Yoga Dance workshop, you may experience:

  • The foundational principles and characteristic movement approach of Dru Yoga
  • A complete Dru Dance sequence choreographed to music, drawing on Indian and Western movement traditions
  • Movement as a means of expression — working with the body as a language rather than a task
  • Tools you can take home and use to energise and enliven yourself in daily life

Please note that a reasonable level of fitness is required for this workshop.
