Ayurveda CPD: Series 1 – Session 3
£14.99
This Ayurveda CPD session with Dr Janey Fitzgerald explores how Vata — the dosha of air and ether — governs the processes of ageing, illness and approaching death. Session 3 of the Dru Ayurveda Health Coach Series 1. Recording available. Two CPD hours for DPN members. For Dru Ayurveda Health Coach diploma graduates only.
Description
This Ayurveda CPD session is the third in the Dru Ayurveda Health Coach Series 1 — a continuing professional development programme designed exclusively for graduates of the Dru Ayurveda Health Coach diploma.
In Ayurvedic understanding, each of the three doshas governs different phases and processes of life. Vata — the dosha of air and ether — is associated with movement, change and transition. It is the dominant dosha of later life, and Ayurveda’s model of Vata gives health coaches a nuanced and compassionate framework for understanding the physical, energetic and emotional changes that accompany ageing, illness and the approach of death.
This is territory that conventional health systems often find difficult to address with depth or clarity. Ayurveda’s perspective on the Vata phase of life is both ancient and remarkably applicable — offering health coaches practical tools and a broader understanding that can genuinely support clients navigating this stage of life, or supporting loved ones through it.
Led by Dr Janey Fitzgerald, who brings thirty years of NHS experience as a GP alongside her Ayurvedic training, this session explores the subject with the clinical knowledge and the contemplative depth it deserves.
This Ayurveda CPD session includes:
- A spiritual attunement rooted in Ayurvedic practice to open the session
- A clinical talk by Dr Janey Fitzgerald on understanding ageing, illness and approaching death through the lens of Vata dosha, with time for questions and discussion
- A case presentation — an anonymised real-world case brought by a Dru Ayurveda Health Coach — followed by small-group discussion of diagnosis and treatment approaches
The live session has passed. A full recording is available to purchase and access in your druyoga.com account, allowing you to explore the material in your own time.
