This Ayurveda mental health CPD session is the fourth in the Dru Ayurveda Health Coach Series 1 — a continuing professional development programme designed exclusively for graduates of the Dru Ayurveda Health Coach diploma.
Mental health is one of the areas where Ayurveda’s whole-person framework offers something genuinely distinctive. Where modern medicine has historically approached mental health through biochemistry and diagnosis, Ayurveda maps the mind across the three doshas and the three gunas (the fundamental qualities of Tamas, Rajas and Sattva), offering health coaches a complementary model for understanding how mental and emotional imbalances arise, how they present across different constitutional types, and what practical interventions may help.
For Ayurvedic health coaches, this framework sits alongside — not in place of — conventional mental health support. It offers a language for understanding patterns, a set of practices that can support the mind’s natural capacity for balance, and a compassionate, constitutionally-aware approach to working with clients experiencing mental and emotional difficulty.
Led by Dr Janey Fitzgerald, who brings thirty years of NHS experience as a GP to this subject, the session explores Ayurvedic approaches to mental health with both clinical rigour and genuine depth.
This Ayurveda mental health CPD session includes:
- A spiritual attunement rooted in Ayurvedic practice to open the session
- A clinical talk by Dr Janey Fitzgerald on Ayurvedic approaches to mental health, with time for questions and discussion
- A case presentation — an anonymised real-world case brought by a Dru Ayurveda Health Coach — followed by small-group discussion of diagnosis and treatment approaches
A full recording is available to purchase and access in your druyoga.com account.
